Fame at last - YOUR images on our website

2 March 2010

Making Music London is in the process of developing this website to make it as attractive as possible. In recent times we have seen a significant increase in the traffic passing through our site, much of which is looking at the ‘Find a Music Group’ pages.

We can help to promote your group

If you have good quality images of your group in rehearsal or performance, please do send them to us so that we can post them here! This may act as a good tool for publicty and recruitment, so there’s nothing to lose, and of course we'll credit your group name and photographer.

You should also ensure that your group details are as up to date as possible. Please e-mail us if not, as we rely on you to tell us what you’d like to see written about your group on our website.

What sort of photos can we use?

We do have some rules to ensure that we use the best possible images (i.e. image quality that looks good when posted online), plus protect everyone concerned from any potential problems.

So, we need your photos to be:
• 300 dots per inch (this is the resolution measurement) – usually the finest setting on a digital camera
• Clear (in focus) and well-lit images
• Close-up shots of people really engaging with their instruments, or looking happy or focused while singing - we like these! Group shots from the back of a venue are typically not usable
• Include permission from photographer and any credit text needed to accompany the image
• No photos including children, unless you have the written permission of their parents

Here's how to get some good photos...
