Why the fundraiser?

Conway Hall Sunday Concerts traces its history back to 1878, when the Peoples Concert Society was formed for the purpose of “increasing the popularity of good music by means of cheap concerts”. Since then it has been a significant part of musical life in London and a venue held close to the hearts of many musicians and music-lovers as an excellent venue for chamber music, offering an unrivaled acoustic and intimate atmosphere.

In the recent financial climate the future of Conway Hall Sunday Concerts is looking rather uncertain and extra funding and support is being sought in order to ensure that this extraordinary series - probably the oldest of its kind in Europe - is able to continue. This gala concert will feature some of the country's finest performers who are all giving their services free of charge in order to support this very worthy cause. It promises to be an evening of high-quality, engaging and inspiring music-making and we would like to raise as much money as possible!
