Join Festival Chorus's St. Matthew Passion
Open to all singers, the performance and associated rehearsals are being hosted by Festival Chorus, leading towards a concert as part of the St. Luke's Music Society season.
Festival Chorus seeks extra singers for this concert
This will be one of the biggest and most challenging concerts ever staged by the Festival Chorus. To do such a big piece is a real financial and organisational challenge and can only be achieved once every few years. So we are extending an invitation to singers of all abilities to join with us to make this the amateur choral singing event of the year. This is a rare chance to prepare the whole, unabridged work and perform it to a large audience with top class soloists and orchestra.
When and where is it?
Concert: 27 March 2010 at 7pm in St Luke's Church, Thurleigh Road, London SW12 8RQ
Weekly rehearsals for St Matthew Passion, starting on Monday 30th November 2009, are held 8-9.30pm (term time only) at Broomwood Methodist Hall, Kyrle Road, SW11 6BD. There are also 2 Saturday rehearsals and a rehearsal the night before and in the afternoon on the day of the concert.
How much will it cost?
